The End

So I have 'graduated' from AmeriCorps NCCC. This has been the most difficult year of my life. It was great being able to help others through service. Spending two projects in New Orleans was definitely a highlight. I loved the city and it's people's perseverance.

However, I do not believe I have ever felt less like myself. Maybe it was awkwardly having to live with 10 other people for 10 months, every minute of every day (live, eat, drink, talk, work, sleep all together). Or maybe it was the difficulty of staying in touch with friends and family- my two other projects had no internet and VERY limited cell phone reception. Perhaps it is a mixture of both, but in the end I am glad I had this experience even if it felt like it really was not the perfect fit at the perfect time (I still believe this program would have been better for me straight out of high school).

To my 10 other team mates, thank you for dealing so well together and hopefully you will come visit me in the 'real world' haha
