WOW! Searching for a job is incredibly difficult right now with how the economy is acting. However, I am keeping positive and have adapted to finding other opportunities I had not thought about previously. Currently, I am substituting for two school districts--mostly 9th grade science for some reason-- and not liking it that much. Maybe it is because I do not have have my own classroom, thereby not being able to create my own dynamic. Instead I have to jump into someone else's classroom and do not feel as if I am having a positive influence. I have been able to substitute for 7th grade science and actually loved that age group (oh gosh, I sound like my mother hahah)
My current plan is to make and save as much money as possible (hopefully will get a part time job at Borders-yay books!) so that I can then travel abroad again. I have been looking into grad schools and internships abroad as possibilities for next fall. In particular, I have been working on an appointment to work for the Finnish Forest Research Institute that I am really hoping becomes a reality!!!! I will not find out for sure for at least another 2 months, but cross your fingers for me. For some reason, I just feel an incredible pull to be out of this country and working elsewhere. we shall see...we shall see
